Community Moderation Policy
My Town 360 is a neighborhood space. This policy explains, in plain language, what is not allowed, how reporting works, how fast we review, what enforcement looks like, and how to appeal a decision. It works alongside the Terms of Service (§3 acceptable use, §4 community content & moderation) and the Privacy Policy. When you create an account you accept both the Terms and this policy, and that acceptance is recorded with the versions you accepted.
1. What is prohibited
Do not post, comment, list, or message any of the following anywhere in My Town 360 — feed posts, comments, Market listings, Business Pages, or profiles:
- Spam and scams — bulk or repetitive posting, fake listings, misleading prices or claims, phishing, or schemes.
- Harassment, hate, or bullying — content that targets a neighbor or a group with abuse, slurs, or intimidation.
- Violence or threats — threats of harm, or content that encourages violence. In an emergency, call 911 — a report here is not an emergency service.
- Sexual or graphic content — sexual content, or gratuitously graphic imagery. My Town 360 is a family neighborhood space.
- Personal information — someone else's phone number, address, or other private details posted without their consent.
- Impersonation — pretending to be another neighbor, business, or official.
- Illegal, dangerous, or unsafe content — content that facilitates wrongdoing, or listings for items that may not lawfully be sold.
- Fake recommendations — praise or reviews that do not reflect a genuine experience, including paid praise presented as a neighbor's own.
- “Suspicious person” framing — safety content must describe a factual incident (what happened, where), never a person. There is deliberately no such category in the app.
2. How reporting works
- Every post, comment, Market listing, and Business Page carries a Report button. Reporting takes three taps: the button, a reason (spam or scam; harassment, hate or bullying; violence or threats; sexual or graphic content; personal information; impersonation; illegal or unsafe; or another policy violation), and an optional note with factual context.
- A report stores the reason, your note, and a snapshot of the content as it appeared when you reported it, so a reviewer sees exactly what you saw — even if the content is later edited or removed.
- The person you report is not told who reported them. Reports are visible to the moderation team and to you (your own reports), never to the reported account.
- Reporting requires an account at the Resident tier or above once accounts open. While sign-in is still being finalized, reports filed in the app are stored on your device and sync to the review queue when accounts open — nothing you file is silently dropped.
- You can also report by email at willow.rain.llc@gmail.com.
- Safety concerns — a hazard, an outage, a lost pet, storm damage, or another factual neighborhood concern — are filed from the Safety tab's “Report a safety concern” button. They enter this same review queue with the same 24-hour target; while sign-in is still being finalized they are stored on your device and sync when accounts open.
3. The 24-hour review target
Every report is reviewed within 24 hours of being filed. Each report in the review queue shows its age and its SLA state (within target, due soon, or overdue), and the queue is worked oldest first. Content that presents an immediate safety risk may be limited or removed before full review is complete.
4. Blocking
- You can block any neighbor from the Report dialog, in the same act as reporting or on its own. Blocking is private — the other person is not notified.
- A block is enforced by the service, not just hidden in the app: the blocked account's posts, comments, and listings stop appearing in your feed, Market, and directory views.
- You can review who you have blocked, and unblock, at any time from your profile drawer's Safety & moderation section.
5. Enforcement
Responses are proportionate to the problem. Depending on the content and the account's history, a reviewer may:
- Dismiss the report, when the content does not violate this policy — the content stays up.
- Remove the content that was reported.
- Warn the account, in plain language, saying what broke the policy.
- Suspend the account — a suspended account cannot post, comment, or list, and its existing content is hidden while the suspension stands.
Safety reports additionally move through the app's reported → confirmed → resolved lifecycle; unconfirmed reports are labeled as such and are never presented as established fact.
6. Appeals
- If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe the decision was wrong, email willow.rain.llc@gmail.com with the account email, a link or description of the content, and why you believe it follows this policy.
- Appeals are reviewed by a person, with a response target of 3 business days. If the decision was wrong, the content or account is restored and the record is corrected.
- One appeal per decision is the norm; repeat appeals that add no new facts may be answered by reference to the first response.
7. Who moderates
Moderation is run by Willow Rain Company LLC. The review queue is accessible only to the operator's admin account; reviewers see the report, the reason, and the content snapshot — nothing about the reporter beyond what the report itself contains. Moderation records (what was reported, what was decided, and when) are kept as part of the service's safety record.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date and a new policy version. Account holders are asked to accept the current versions of the Terms and this policy; the recorded acceptance names the versions accepted.
